the intersection of land and sea
designs that symbolize what it means to be iconically ventura
rooted in ventura
From the Avenue to Main Street, Ventura has a style that’s truly unique for a beach city. Unlike its northern neighbor, it holds on to a blue collar feel that once defined by its oil production in the Ojai basin. That juxtaposition of beach culture and blue collar creates a truly unique attitude. The perfect symbol for that resilience as a community are the 2 Blue Gum Eucalyptus trees that have survived fires, winds and straight up vandalism. Those trees are the roots of the city as they define both the spirit of the city and its people.
Land and Sea
Everyone who’s traveled up the 101 Ventura Freeway knows exactly when arriving in Ventura. Marked by a pony truss bridge carrying US 101 over the Union Pacific Railroad. Not only does this bridge stand out while driving, it symbolizes an iconic connection point between Main Street and the mountains from the Pacific Ocean. Standing next to the bridge offers a beautiful backdrop of a breathtaking landscape. Mountains in back and the pier in front.
